Watts Gallery

National Gallery in the Heart of a Village

__

Brand Identity, Promotional Literature, Exhibition Catalogue and Signage

Watts Gallery is a unique Arts & Crafts artists' village nestled in the Surrey Hills. Once the home and studios of G.F. and Mary Watts, it is the first purpose built gallery dedicated to the work of one artist.

The challenge of the brief was to build a visual brand identity which would take Watts through its next phase of development for the next 10-20 years. We were involved in every aspects of rebranding for the relaunch of the Gallery, from invitations to the quarterly magazine, leaflets and exhibition catalogue. We worked closely with the team at Watts to a strict deadline to prepare everything for the grand re-opening of the Gallery.

G.F Watts was a Victorian painter and sculpter and one of his most notable works was the enormous, larger than life-size 'Physical Energy' horse, upon which we based the design for the logo. Typographic treatments were inspired by classical, timeless typefaces.
